How to Install a New WordPress Plugin?
Plugins are made to add new functionalities to your website.

When using WordPress, you don’t have to learn programming languages and you don’t have to spend a long time coding your website’s functionalities. All you have to do is to search for the adequate plugin for your website and there you are!

That is to say, with a simple keyword and a few clicks you can find the plugin that adds a new functionality to your website.

How to Install a Premium Plugin

1. The first step is finding a good plugin on Codecanyon. By typing the name of the plugin, such as “membership” (To find a plugin that allows the website visitors to have their own profiles, and be able to interact with each other), Codecanyon will show a list of search terms. The first search term is what we are looking for.

2. To be sure getting the best plugin possible, we can use the Sort By option and Select “Best Sellers” to sort the plugins by Best Sellers.

Let’s suppose we viewed it, liked it and downloaded it. How to install it?

– There are two options: either uploading the file from WordPress Dashboard or uploading it using FTP.

Option 1: uploading the plugin from WordPress Dashboard

1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Go to Plugins > then Add New.
3. At the top, click Upload Plugin.

4.Click on Choose File.

A new window will appear. Find your plugin, select it, and open it.

5. Click on Install Now, and wait until the installation has finished, and then activate the plugin.

For security reasons, many web hosts do not allow you to upload files that are big in size. If this method didn’t work, try the second option (FTP) which will always work.

Option 2: using FTP to upload the plugin (recommended): (On GoDaddy Web Host)

1. Unzip your plugin files.
2. Download and install FileZilla.
3. Log in to your GoDaddy account.
4. In front of your hosting account, click Manage.
5. You will need to copy your website’s address which displays on the left, under Stats and Usage section.
6. You also need to find your FTP Password and Username: In the Files section, click FTP accounts.
7. In the Special FTP account section, you’ll see your primary FTP account details.
8. Now, open FileZilla, enter your host’s IP, Username, Password and Port which is by default: 21. Click Quick Connect.

9. When you connect, on the left side of the screen you’ll see the files that are stored on your computer. The right side, on the other hand, is for the files stored on your web host. On the right side, open public_html (which contains your WordPress files), open WordPress folder, then wp-content folder, and after that plugins.

10. On the left side, search where you unzipped your plugin files, open it, drag and drop your plugin’s folder into plugins and wait until your files have successfully uploaded.

11. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins and activate your plugin.
